2025 MVYP 25 Under 35 Honoree
Share and Celebrate
Jeffrey Jiang is a rising public servant, strategic planner, and civic trailblazer whose leadership, vision, and community-first mindset are already shaping the future of Northeast Ohio. As a Grant Specialist for the Ashtabula County Planning & Development Department, Jeffrey manages over $1.3 million in housing improvement funding, collaborates with state and federal agencies, and implements programs that directly uplift residents through equitable infrastructure, housing, and environmental initiatives.
Before joining Ashtabula County, Jeffrey served as Special Projects Coordinator for the City of Cortland, where he spearheaded the implementation of the city's 2021 Strategic Plan, advocated for more than $10 million in funding, and developed forward-thinking policy priorities in partnership with the Mayor’s Office. His contributions enhanced everything from zoning and HR policy to business attraction and community engagement—setting a new standard for what local government can achieve when driven by innovation and empathy.
A proud Eagle Scout, 20 Under 20 Award recipient, and Ohio Beta Club State President, Jeffrey’s leadership journey began long before his professional career. He’s consistently brought energy, organization, and purpose to every space he’s entered, whether raising over $250,000 in a political campaign, supporting the Ohio Attorney General’s Teen Ambassador Board, or advocating for students on Capitol Hill as part of his national campaign for National Beta President.
Jeffrey is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Associate of Arts from Kent State University, Trumbull. His academic journey reflects his ongoing commitment to learning and growth, all while working full time and continuing to expand his public service footprint across the Mahoning Valley.
Outside of his formal roles, Jeffrey is actively engaged in youth mentorship and civic leadership. He serves as Communications Chair for Optimist International, supports community programs like the Special Olympics, and has served in leadership roles with the Boy Scouts of America and Order of the Arrow. His work continues to center around advocacy, access, and ensuring that diverse voices are represented in the decision-making spaces that shape our future.
With a rare blend of policy experience, fundraising expertise, and grassroots passion, Jeffrey Jiang is not only an outstanding public administrator but a symbol of the next generation of leadership rising in the Mahoning Valley. His drive to serve, uplift, and innovate makes him a truly deserving recipient of the 2025 25 Under 35 Award.
