MEET THE HONOREE

2025 MVYP 25 Under 35 Honoree

Share and Celebrate

Emily Moran is a dedicated public servant, grant strategist, and community advocate whose work has brought vital resources to the people of Trumbull County. As the Grants Coordinator for the Trumbull County Planning Commission, Emily has helped secure and manage more than $3 million in public funding, directly supporting infrastructure, housing, and community improvement projects that uplift local residents and neighborhoods.

A two-time graduate of Kent State University, Emily earned both her Bachelor of Business Administration and her Master of Public Administration, equipping her with a strong foundation in public finance, policy, and program implementation. Since joining the Planning Commission, she has become a key leader in administering Community Development Block Grants, overseeing programs like critical infrastructure upgrades, senior center improvements, and home sewage treatment system replacements for low- and moderate-income households. She also serves as the Fair Housing Contact, Prevailing Wage Coordinator, and public hearing facilitator, ensuring that every project complies with legal, environmental, and community standards.

Emily’s past experience includes impactful work at Beatitude House, where she served as Program Director for the Ursuline Sisters Scholars Program, supporting low-income parents in post-secondary education. Her work involved mentorship, volunteer coordination, and data management to drive strategic outcomes for student success across Mahoning, Trumbull, and Ashtabula counties. She also gained critical early experience in the financial and legal sectors through positions at Farmers National Bank and The Cafaro Company, where she developed a sharp eye for detail and accountability.

Beyond her career, Emily is deeply committed to community service. She volunteers with the Lordstown Little League, contributes to the Trumbull County Township Association and Housing Collaborative, and has supported numerous fundraisers and events for the Ursuline Sisters Ministry, including the Nun Run and Annual Beer and Wine Tasting benefiting children’s programs. Her commitment to equity and opportunity earned her recognition as a 2024 Honoree of the “Something Good” Initiative by the Planning Commission — a tribute to her work improving quality of life across Trumbull County.

Emily resides in Lordstown with her husband and their two sons, balancing the roles of mother, mentor, and changemaker with grace and drive. Her unique combination of professional excellence, community dedication, and heart for service makes her a shining example of the next generation of civic leaders in the Mahoning Valley.

For these reasons and more, Emily Moran is a deserving honoree of the 2025 25 Under 35 Award, a recognition of her outstanding leadership and lasting impact in the region she calls home.
